AC9.0 holds some major changes for junior primary teachers
- Number is far more heavily emphasised with higher expectations for place value and operations
- Counting is de-emphasised, with focus instead on quantifying, partitioning, ordering, connecting and comparing
- Statistics includes the concept of Frequency… from year 1
- Mathematical modelling and algorithmic thinking are included in the achievement standard
This course includes
- Time to unpack the new content descriptors, including both the content and skills components
- Time to unpack the achievement standard and consider what it means to perform at, above and not-yet at standard
- Time to plan for implementation, with support from Tierney Kennedy
Take aways:
- a set of adaptable A-E assessment criteria for each year level,
- additional descriptions to help make grading easier,
- reporting comments to use for parents,
