Are you ready for AC9.0?
AC9.0 holds some major changes for primary teachers
- Number lines, multiplicative and proportional reasoning are all far more heavily emphasised, with whole-number place value finishing much earlier
- Statistics is at a far higher level, with line graphs included from year 5
- Mathematical modelling and algorithmic thinking are included in the achievement standards for each year level
- The proficiency strands are far more embedded across each content descriptor and within the achievement standards
This course includes
- Time to unpack the new content descriptors, including both the content and skills components
- Time to unpack the achievement standard and consider what it means to perform at, above and not-yet at standard
- Time for designing some simple assessment tasks
- Time to plan for implementation, with support from Tierney Kennedy
Take aways:
- a set of adaptable A-E assessment criteria for each year level,
- reporting comments to use for parents,
- content descriptors and achievement standards formatted to be easy for planning,
- unit planners complete with content descriptors for easy copying and pasting
