What will we cover?
The course focuses on the areas of mathematics that commonly prevent students from progressing confidently in secondary school:
- adding and subtracting efficiently, including integers
- using number lines to develop understanding of length, perimeter, mass and capacity
- adding and subtracting with time, and reading clocks
- multiplying and dividing efficiently and developing fact fluency
- area of rectangles and related shapes
- understanding fractions, decimals and percent, converting between them, and operating with them
- using relationship tables for ratios, fractions and percentages
- introductory algebra and linear equations
